Agile Post It Board

On the back of the board there were some more traditional activities going on collecting suggestions on post it notes as well as quadrant mapping feelings about various neighbourhood facilities.

The wall not only gets cluttered but people will stop updating the walls. And if possible get a neutral third party to help facilitate the meeting. Scenarios when we started to work on the re launch of our website for instance i wrote the following scenario. Too many post it notes.

If you have photos for each team member attach them to small sticky notes or put post it glue on the back. For in person teams find a whiteboard or large paper and set out post it notes and markers in a meeting room.

It was a great reminder of how the physical and interactive can engage and delight and of the importance of making it easy to interact with. Place the photo stickies on the edge of the board to indicate team members available for tasks. That is while there is value in the items on the right we value the items on the left more. The passion for post it notes and sharpies that agile purists operate with is enough make you think the founding members owned shares in 3m the company that owns post it notes.
